Complaints to the Texas Freemans Bureau Grimes County:

Settlement of Freemen and Women of Color from the Estate of W. C. Danes 1866,1867

Mac, Chas, Frank and Peter Ware all received 17 bushels of corn.
Wm Thomas received 25 bushels
Taylor Hill received 7 bushels
M Handley and Ed Jones each received 6 bushels
Sally Milligan received 7 bushels
Matilda Handley wife of M Handley received 3 bushels and Nancy Thomas also received 3 bushels..

11-11-1867
Wm Jones shot and killed Rachel Harper on widow Fords plantation because she would not carry her own cotton sack while she was choping cotton. The killing was witnessed by Fmeedman Sandy Mingoe..
Wm Jones is believed to be headed to Arkansas
