This is a wonderful find. I regret not having found your post sooner. The mention of Soloman Day giving a speech before 10,000 black folks in Findlay and that he was a "mover and shaker" in Ohio has me quite interested.

Do you know where I can find more info about this meeting in particular and Soloman Day's political activities in general? I would love to find the text of his speech or maybe a photograph. I know he was extremely politically active but I have yet to find a picture of him anywhere. I have some excerpts of testimony he gave before the OH legislature concerning separate schools along with some article he wrote in the Dayton Black newspaper (don't remember the name). There has to be a image of him somewhere!
