Hi Art, This is a wonderful find. I regret not having found your post sooner. The mention of Soloman Day giving a speech before 10,000 black folks in Findlay and that he was a "mover and shaker" in Ohio has me quite interested. You wrote: "note: The Rev. John Poindexter, Hon. John M. (Mercer) Langston and Solomon Day were "movers" and "shakers" on the political scene in Ohio following the Civil War and after many years of fighting for the equality of African-Americans during the period of Ohio's Black Codes prior the Civil War." Do you know where I can find more info about this meeting in particular and Soloman Day's political activities in general? I would love to find the text of his speech or maybe a photograph. I know he was extremely politically active but I have yet to find a picture of him anywhere. I have some excerpts of testimony he gave before the OH legislature concerning separate schools along with some article he wrote in the Dayton Black newspaper (don't remember the name). There has to be a image of him somewhere! Mike
