Hello all,

I am having trouble finding My Gr,Gr,Great grandfather Joseph Aaron from the Colfax Township in Darlington SC. He was born around 1828. He shows up on the 1870 Census without a wife, just him and his two children in Colfax in Darliington. On this census, they show living with another family- Harry Issac, wife and child. Then he shows up on the 1880 Census with a wife and his 2 children, plus 5 other new children, which could be theirs together or his children by marriage. I am trying to do research on him during the Reconstruction time period, but need some tips on where to look to find him. I am trying to find out what happened to his wife that he had his first two children from. Can someone list records that were available to research during 1860-1880? Does anyone have any reconstruction documents for Darlington Co Townships during 1860-1800? Any help is greatly appreciated.
