I just wanted to say I've noticed a distinct migration pattern not only amongst my family members, but it seems throughout Leon county Florida. Many people migrated from North Carolina to Leon county Florida. My relatives came mostly from Warren county. I noticed the Coleman's came from Halifax county, NC. I'm guessing that this part of Florida had a favorable reputation amongst the newly freed blacks?? Perhaps slave owners in these North Carolina counties also had properties/plantations in Leon county Florida. My research continues. Any comments??
