I have been able to locate my GGG Grandparents on the Livingston, AL census from 1880. They live next to their daughter and son in law, who in turn live next to the husband's parents. I know that the land is still in the family to this day. What I'm trying to figure out is how exactly they purchased the land. Anythoughts, other than the index to will and estates for the area? I think I know the former slave holder's name, but that's unproven at this point.
Any thoughts?
