Letter to Bureau Lieutenant (Assistant Dept. General) from the Assistand Sub-Assistant in Lafourche Parish, LA on October 20, 1867.
" Peter Brown complains that his son Peter Brown, Jr., a boy of about 13 years of age having shortly before the conclusion of the war, been sold to Mr. Claiborne Oldhausen, Pook [Polk] Co., TX, that he, Mr. Oldhausen, having been requested by the boys brother Harison Brown, to allow the boy to come with him to his father, refused, threatening to shoot him if he did not leave his place...
He wishes to know if Mr. Oldhausen can not be made to give the boy up and be made to pay him his wages, he having been requested to do the work of a man. Mr. Oldhausen resides four miles from Moscow, Pook [Polk?] Co., Tx.
Very respectvully,
Your obedient Servant
J. A. A. Robinson "
