Yes, GenealogyBank is definitely a subscription database that we have discussed on numerous occasions. However, I do not believe that the two collections, GB and African American Newspapers, 1827-1998 (by Readex) are identical. They most likely share some of the same papers, but it is my impression that GenealogyBank's collection is larger and more useful as it has more of the papers from the post slavery period up through the early 20th century--and as we have discovered, you can at least search it for free.
