Last night I attended a webinar by Lisa Louise Cooke titled Getting the Scoop from Old Newspapers. It was useful in many respects, and one of the things she touched on was the value of business ads.
This reminded me of one I came across a few weeks ago when I was researching in The Black Dispatch (Oklahoma City). Found in a 1928 issue, it is destined to be one of my favorites. I attempted to find the restaurateur in the 1920 census, but had no luck.
Have not checked 1930.
By the way, when my mother cooked chitterlings it ran me out of the house. Could not stand the smell!
