African American Newspapers Forum
Colored Anarchist aka rabble rouser LOL
Working on that coal miner research book, so I am looking through my ridiculously large newspaper files.
Really like this one. Came from the Atlanta Constitution on Proquest, dated July 10, 1895. What I like about it is, how it is another neat example of how newspapers can illuminate our ancestors in ways you just can't predict. And for the descendants of this particular gentleman, affidavits & witness statements may await them at the National Archives. Also would not be surprised if he is found several times in the United Mine Workers Journal, and possibly ascended to a leadership position in the one of the district locals.
