I try to limit my postings to African American papers, but like a few of you, I overstep my bounds from time to time.
Had a fellow genealogist who had gotten a lead from an elderly relative send me an email asking for advice/assistance. I am swamped with work, so I suggested we look at it down the road in a few weeks. Before letting it drop completely, I did a quick Google search on 3 key words, the small town, the somewhat unique family name, and the state. What I got is at the link below. It is a fascinating article on the widow of her great-grandfather's brother (I think) and although it did not provide the answer to the question she had, she was giddy with excitement--so was I!
