This is an interesting thought to search the papers for news on the community rather than searching for specific individuals. Not everyone was documented in the papers or their names are too common for a search. I may try this approach to find out more about Cairo, Peoria and the like where I have some people there for a period of time. BTW, this is the 2nd time in less than a month where I saw the word scavenger used for a garbageman.
