Re: Daniel Rudd~American Catholic Tribune

Genealogy and Family History, what a small world we live in. The older brother that Daniel Rudd followed to Springfield, Ohio was Charles Henry Rudd whose son, Charles David Rudd, married Hattie Adams of Findlay, Ohio. Hattie (Adams) Rudd is my 1C x 3R. Her father, David Adams was the brother of my 2nd great-grandfather, William Adams.

The connection in this example, to my mind, shows the value of communiity/cluster research in our approach to genealogy. It allows us to see outside of our immediate family and places our family history and genealogy in the context of world history and events.

Daniel Rudd's nephews, Robert R. & John R. Rudd, served as officers under the command of Maj. Charles Young with the 9th Battalion of the Ohio National Guard during the Spanish-Amercian War.

Quite a distinguished and accomplished family, the Rudd's, children & grandchildren of Robert & Elizabeth Frances Rudd, who came out of slavery from Bardstown, Nelson County, KY.
