Following the example of Lisa L on the reporting "tone" found in white newspaper articles about AA's in the early part of the 20th century are these articles at the below URL. And these are regarded as favorable articles. The articles are from the WW I timeframe (1918).They are of an AA individual who had just received his commission as an U.S. Army officer. He is a 30 y/o man at that time. Read the articles from the Urbana, Ohio Daily Citizen & Gazette and you get the "patronizing tone" of that time period. Art Thomas
