Re: Old Movies Portraying AfricanAmericans

Very good, Ed. Bingo Long is to me a classic of its kind. Speaking of the old movies, the real old ones, such as those that people often call stereotypes there comes to mind Cabin in the Sky, Ethel Waters, Lena Horne, and Bojangles.....it was a nice movie, it had a Black cast, and the storyline in many ways was okay, however there comes something called the stereotypes that were there. There are stereotypes in another Black film or play The Green Pastures, yet there is again a certain storyline that tries to get one's interest. Stormy Weather and Anna Lucasta were not bad. Today's movies: Do you see the stereotypes in them? Joseph Messages In This Thread
