Bennie: I was there as a guest at a private showing. There were a number of notables in the audience that know the black struggle because they are descendants the same as I. There were blacks in the battle scene trying to climb the soft earth. The Unit that dug the tunnel were miners from Pennslyvania.. The movie was not about the Civil War, but about a couple drawn together during the Civil War and their letters. He spends one night with her and she has a child to raise on Cold Mountain. You will also note that her father treated his help with dignity. They came to Cold Mountain to escape the horrors of slavery. If this person feels so powerful about issues, then have him join me in our fight to get Seaman Doris (Dorie) Miller recognized for the Medal of Honor. CDR Ross L. Fowler
