This is my Daniel and Mary that I had confirmed. It is hard to confirm siblings because of the so common name of Adams. I was told some information by a cousin that a son Lee Adams had worked for a man who gave Lee the nickname of Capt Lee. That's what we called him and was put on his death certificate. This cousin said Lee knew a couple of foreign languages, but I can't depend on this'story' because of the source. So I guess I'll just have to research each male black ADAMS in the 1870 census for now. I've been working on the ADAMS who were born in Alabama and who's parents were born in Virginia. I think they are related to my Daniel.
