Hi Tom: The letter written by "Justice O.K.", of the 25th Infantry was quite good, but you cited only four lines and somehow left out 19 lines of his letter, which would have given a broader view of his statements.
Ditto; on the letter to the Secretary of War, from a 25th Regiment soldier, from Fort Shaw, Montana. You failed to note, that his letter was caused by the lynching of a black soldier by civilians, and you left out about 10 lines of his letter, which would have expanded the appreciation of his call for help from the Secretary of War.

These are significant statements from men who were one generation out of slavery and had no formal education. They should not be dismissed by the scarcity of their writings. Lloyd
