Re: Military Records: Good News/Bad News

Hi Nina: I was looking for a cousin-in-law who served in the 10th Cavalry and the 369th in WW1. I went to the V.A. Hqs. and they found that his records had been burned in the St.Louis fire also.
I went to the U.S. Archives and found all of my Great Uncle's enlistment papers from his enlistment in 1887, to his retirement in 1912, Co. G., 24th Infantry Regiment. I have to go back to find his service records, if they are there.
I looked at Anthony Powell's Spanish American War Website and didn't see Elliot's name. You may ask Anthony for some leads and if I can, I will check the U.S. Archives, when I make my next trip there. Lloyd
