Re: Tell it on the Mountain

Sharon:
A well-stated appeal for research information. I hope you are deluged with material.

For nearly forty years I have been "following" the story of blacks who served in the post=Civil War regular army (ca l865/66--l898, and I'll admit I tend to nod off once some of these fellows took part in the brief dance against the Dons in early l898). I sure don't know everything about my chosen three decade poeriod, but I have learned/discovered a lot--and I am both delighted and prompt to share anything and everything that I have stumbled across (a while back Tony Powell noted this in a message he posted on this site).

If I can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to e-mail or
call:

thomasdphillip@aol.com or (601) 502-224l

Warning: what you will always get from me is information "with the bark still on"---in other words, direct and full references to what I have found in the historical record. If you ask for speculation (what I think) I will be happy to respond.

Good luck with your research.

Tom Phillips
