Hello, African American soldiers served during this period in Cuba 1898-1902 the units were the 24th and 25th Infantry the 9th and 10th Cavalry in the summer of 1898 the 9th USV Infantry and the the 8th ILL National Guard served in the island's from August 1898 until March 1899, Company L, of the 6th Mass, National Guard served in Porto Rico. The regulars came back state side in August 1898, the 10th went back to Cuba in December 1898 and a portion of the regiment stayed until the summer of 1902. The 24th and 25th along with the 9th cavalry served in the Philippine island's a squadron of the 10th was sent to the Philippine's in 1900 these regiments came home in the summer of 1902. Two all black volunteer regiments served in the Philippine's the 48th and 49th from 1899 until June of 1901.All four regular army black units served in the Philippine island's from 1906 through 1909 the 24th again in 1914-1916, the 9th cavalry from 1915 to 1922 the 25th would serve in Hawaii, from 1913 to 1918, the other two units on the Mexician border. I will check the rosters of those units for the period 1905 through 1910
