The Vietnam Veterans Thrift store recently celebrated one year in business. The store, located at 1316 Walnut Ave., "is a place to congregated and talk to each other," said Judy Mundy. Mundy, along with her husband, George and Jim Carmickle put in a lot of the effort to open the store in August 2002.

All proceeds from sales at the store go to the local Vietnam Veterans Foundation, Mundy said.

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
