Was surprised to find this ship with my paternal surname while surfing today.
Had just mentioned in the Chat this morning about the ugly experiences my
brother, Moultrie Benham (1926-1972), endured in his assignment as "houseservant, babysitter, cook" in the home of the naval commander. Life has many strange turns. A Benham cousin, Robert(1932-), was the first African American to be elected as Chief Justice, State of Georgia, Supreme Court and still serves in the court.

My Benham lines connects via William Benham, CT to Elizabeth IRBY in Laurens SC to Cartersville, Bartow County, Georgia.
