I know the name "Spanky" - having heard my parents both refer to him related to campus activities, not sure about Hathcock - unfortunately as a kid I didn't listen much to my folks talking about their WVA state days, except for a few of the more humerous stories - and they referred to everyone by nicknames

Daddy said that WVA state was one of the few schools with a program nearby where you could learn to fly - my mom even took a lesson.

I am going to look through my pictures - I have a bunch taken at various reunions - will try to see if Spanky is among them.

Interesting his surname is Roberts - which was my mom's maiden name - do you know where he was from?
