Anthony,et al. I will always yield to people like yourself and your expertise. When I first read the tit for tat comment-I looked at it very critically. I admit to a finely honed BS meter-and little patience for those people whose own egos and lack of research hamper the work of those like you, who have done so much. When I look at how much needs to be done, and see that work undermined by those few-I just don't have the time for it.
I have all the patience in the world for accurate research. We all know it may take hours-weeks-months or years to chase down that one elusive piece that brings together the whole-or puts one more piece in the puzzle. That is my goal-not for me, but to do my part in getting that truth out there. One of my favorite quotes is the African proverb...Only when the lions have historians will the hunters cease to be heroes...
So, no, my goal is not tit for tat-or one upsmanship. It is plain and simple frustration that people like ninthcav can't get beyond their own egos and by perpetuating old hoary myths make it harder. Malin-as for the subjective, interpretive part-my goal is to present PRIMARY SOURCES-and let them tell their own story.
