I always enjoy reading your posts and I really apprecite your insistence on absolute accuracy; there's no excuse for sloppiness or intellectual laziness. I am learning so much from you and the other wonderful people on this forum.

Having stumbled across Afrigeneas about a year ago, and now being certifiably obsessed with genealogy , I really wish I'd majored in History (like I wanted to) instead of Poli Sci (like I thought I should). The Military Forum, and Afrigeneas as a whole, is great. It helps fill in the huge gaps in my education. If people put out half-truths and myths, then the rest of us won't learn properly and could be misled in the search for our families.

On another subject, when were you at Smith? I graduated from Mount Holyoke in 1983 and my sister from Smith in 1985. Did we overlap?
