Dear Military Historians:
Things haven't changed that much since the Second World War. The global myth that African-Americans can easily be influenced to take up arms against a country that for centuries they shaped, built and died for... is still alive and well today. This myth smacks of patronizing condescending racism.
One example is entitled:
"Negro Propaganda Operations': Japan's short-wave radio broadcasts for World War II black Americans." written by Sato Masaharu and Barak Kushner from the "Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television." This is a well researched article on propaganda directed toward African-Americans. Some of the authors' suppositions are flawed....but that is my opinion.
What is your opinion? I would be interested in your comments.
