Indeed, Edouard Wyer and his brother and cousins survived the Civil War. He became the leader of a well known brass band that toured the South and Cuba. Thus my interest in military bands.

I am still researching where and how he received his musical education. Edouard earned his living as a classical music teacher in Pensacola, Florida.
