It is a testimony to you and Mr. LaRue for your hard work and leadership in inspiring a group of high school students to study African-Americans in the Civil War. What a wonderful experience for the students to testify before the Ohio State Government Committee! The students' knowledge would probably put many adults... who can only name Denzel in the watcha-ma-call-it regiment ...to shame.

I just wish that more teachers would use a "hands on approach" in teaching the Civil War and African-American contributions. Thank you for a look at our history as it is being told.
