Jay, I believe you may be seeking information on the 761st Tank Battalion that served in General George S. Patton's Third Army in Europe. The 3rd Armored Division was all-white and served in General Omar Bradley's First Army in Europe. The 761st Tank Battalion was attached to a number of Divisions and other units in the Third Army during its march across Europe. Just a couple of the battalion's accomplishments - Opened the Siegfried line that allowed Patton's 4th Armored Division to cross into Germany. The battalion captured the town of Tillet which no other unit had been able to do.
