I need help in locating my 3great-grandfather William H. Simons, born 1831 in Washington, DC. He married Eliza J. Thompson May 23,1850.I found William, his wife and their five children, on the DC 1860 census. But he wasn't on the DC 1870 census. I know he was home sometime in 1864, because he had a son born in 1865. I am assuming that he was in the war. I would like to know the following: 1)the name of his company? 2) When did he died? 3) Where did he die? Any help is greatly appreciated.
