An interestig post, I have familial connections, direct and collateral, to the gentlemen listed above. Peter Allen is a direct ancestor...he is/was my great-great-great grandfather. I was recently (16 Apr) inducted into the Ohio Genealogical Society's (OGS) "Society of Civil War Families of Ohio" for proving my direct lineage to Peter Allen. The Walden's..they are Peter Allen's brother's-in-law. Peter Allen married their sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" Walden. James Wicker was married to Rachel A. Reno, a 1st cousin 4x removed. Rachel is/was a grandaughter of my 4th great-grandmother, Rachel Reno. See "Grandma Reno's Story" posted on AfriGeneas. Wiliam White, Isham Clay and Willis Jones are descendants from the group of the former slaves of John Randolph. These slaves were freed by the Will of John Randolph, who died in 1833. They (slaves) were not granted their freedom until 1846. Upon being freed they (380+ in number) migrated to the Miami Valley of Ohio, settling primarily in Shelby and Miami counties. Thanks for the post P.F., it is interesting indeed when you can connect to individuals cited in these types of records.
