I've been able to view microfim for the USCT confederate and Union.For my families surnames I saw some possibles. These records do not always give the info as to the name of the owners. But they do give info about the age, appearance and where the person was mustered in as well as the year. If you are not able to go to DC, maybe your local genealogy library will be able to request interlibrary loan for your surnames of interest. It is best to view the microfilm for yourself.
