Good morning all it appears this thing just wont die! I have been watching with interest the respones to this issue. From what I get out of this is that one group is trying to make it appear that thousands of Blacks served in the CSA the other that there was no legal standing until the end of the war am I correct? It appears that from what I have seen indeed there were a few Blacks who did serve in the CSA but the issue seems to be what was there status! It would be nice to see some real docuements posted from that time period! to date I have seen references only for a few Blacks who served I am not suggesting that they did not serve! On the other hand I have seen many documents to suggest that there legal position was something other than being a soldier! Lets put this into its real context is one group suggesting that more than a few Black served as soldiers in the CSA are we looking at hundreds, thousands or just a few? As I said before it seems that a few did serve and with honor. My question is what are you trying to say! That the war was a just war in reference to Blacks slaves in the CS. Answer that question and you will pass my stink test.
