Jim Ball is correct about the French uniforms not being worn by troops of the 93rd (Provisional Division).He is my co partner.My Great Uncle Pvt.George Ford of Issue,MD was a member of Co.A 372nd Inf.DC National Guard.We have only found one anecdotal account in "From Harlem to the Rhine" of one single individual from the 369th being in posession of a French overcoat.Also according to documentatio
from the 372nd's original regimenatl files that we found back in 1993 at the National Archives,there absolutely no mention of French uniforms being issued,but weapons and equipment are definately listed.

US issue uniforms were retained throughout.Later on many troops of the 369th-372nd started to pickup some pieces of US issue equipment such as Helmets,Gasmasks,canteens.French weaponry was used througout time attched to French with the exception of some officers and NCO's
and machine gunners who had retained their US issue sidearms(1911 autos or 1917 revolvers)instead of keeping the less powerful French issue (Ruby auto or Lebel revolver).
