Thanks. I have a transcription of his obit and need to view the actual paper. Alfred's children thanked the members of the GAR and a group I believe was a women's aux. of the GAR. I will have to find out what post he belonged to. He lived in Illinois, primarily Bloomington from 1870 until about 1900/1901 when he relocated to Washington State with a couple of his children. He died a couple of years later.
