My mother is very fond of telling us about a story she says was published in Life Magazine in the 50's. It involved the US Navy and a camera ( or special film ) that was capable of capturing an image of something which was no longer in the space being photographed.
In her memory this was the image of cars that had been in a parking lot hours before. She says that the license tags were readable on these ghost cars.
I imagine she has gotten some or all of this wrong. Still, I have been hearing this all my life and I would like to get to the bottom of it. It is one of our most durable items of family lore.
I have attempted to find out about it once or twice without any success.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanx,
