Am not sure if this is the Eli you are looking for. Did not find a pension application, but if it is the right one, you can request his service record, which may give you enough additional info to try again for a pension record:
E;o Bpbp. 61st USCT (inf) rank in as pvt. out, pvt, honorable discharge. Separate sources list him as Co. I or Co. D.
Census and other records:
1870 Census, living in De Soto Co, Ms. Arkabutta post office.
Listed as mulatto, age 24, married, farmer, born in SC.able to read and write. Wife Letty, mulatto, age 16, born in Virginia, able to read and write,
1880 census: age 35, mulatto, married, farmer. Living in ?Lookashima, Tate Co. Ms. Born in SC, both parents born in SC.
1910 still living in Ms. Eli Bobo 65, Lettie, 57, other info on Eli the same as 1880. Lettie says both parents born in Ms. a grandmother in the house, name illegible, age 84, born in Ms, father in Virginia, Mother in N. Carolina. Also a 17 year old son ? Deberge? and a 16 year old daughter ?Mildred.
Some handrwriting harder to read than others. Clearly all three census are for the same family. Errors are not uncommon, but don't know if this is the Eli you are looking for.
Marriage of Eli Bobo and Letie Willis recorded April 5, 1869 in De Soto Co. MS.
Other possible sources for veteran info-check with nearest GAR post to the veteran you are looking for. They often had enrollement info that included a statement of service record-unit, dates, etc.
Best of luck
