I had been looking for information for a cousin and finally was able to find where he was buried. At the library they had service dates, exact date of death and I was able to get a form to request the service record. Now he only has 1 sister living and as we all know it's sometimes very hard to get family to cooperate and request these forms. I know he has 2 children out there that, I think are half German. The records center wants my ID information and a letter from her releasing information to me. I could lie and sign her name. I've received service records information for other family without going thru this. This cousin died in 1966. Has anyone else gone thru this.
