Benham, Frederick - Private, Company G, 136th Regiment, U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment. Organized in Atlanta, Georgia July 15, 1865. Mustered out January 4, 1866. --------------- Benham, Henry D. - 1st Lieutenant, Company B, 102nd Regiment, U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment. Organized May 23, 1864 from, 1st Michigan Colored Infantry. Mustered out September 30, 1865 --------------- Benham, John H. - 2nd Lieutenant, Company H, 79th Regiment, U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment (Old organization). Organized April 4, 1864, from 7th Corps de Afrique Infantry in Louisiana. Broken up July 28, 1864, and transferred to the 75th U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment. ---------------- Benham, Leonard W. - 1st Lieutenant, Company I, 79th Regiment, U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment (Old organization). Listed as having served in the 5th U. S. Volunteers. NOTE: Not listed on the roster of the 5th U. S. Volunteers. Organized April 4, 1864, from 7th Corps de Afrique Infantry in Louisiana. Broken up July 28, 1864, and transferred to the 75th U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment. ------------------ Benham Leonard W. - 1st Lieutenant and Adjutant, 82nd Regiment, U. S. Colored Infantry Regiment. Also served in Company K, 2nd U. S. Volunteers. NOTE: Listed on the roster of the 2nd U. S. Volunteers. Organized April 4, 1864, from 10th Corps de Afrique Infantry in Louisiana. Mustered out September 10, 1866. --------------------------------- Service, pension (if an application was submitted), and regimental records are on file at the National Archives, Washington, DC.
