I too have a new respect for the song "My Buddy". I was on a journey to research the origins of the song and its original meaning when I found this link. Six months ago a fellow barber shop singer asked our quartet "Geneva" to sing "My Buddy" at his funeral, whenever that sad day may come. We started to look at it a couple months ago and the occasion arose that we sang it to Ross last month at a chapter meeting. Last Saturday we sang it again in a beautiful Catholic Church surrounding our dear friend and Buddy, Ross Lahlum, born April 18th, 1907. Ross sang and kept the world singing around him until his final peaceful hour.
