Just an update: Willie James Coley was from South Carolina and I think he volunteered in 1941-42. ( There was a break in service after the war). While going through his things, I found several medals and ribbons also a 1st Army patch. Among his awards are: Bronze Star, Eur-Afr-Mideast Campaign, WWII Victory, Army of Occupation, several Purple Hearts. He also served in Korea but I'm more interested in his WWII experience. I also remember my Dad saying he was in "Patton's Army". I've requested his records from the National Archives. However, looking at his current DD214, this awards are not on there. Would like to know what some of these awards mean and what campaigns and what units would my Dad have been in....Any info would be appreciated
