Hi all of you,
An acquaintance of mine has come across an identity disk on an Alsatian hill not long ago. He found it along with some medical stuff near the ruins of a hut that was likely to be a US dressing station.
It bears a name which is A.E. STRAIGHT, who was a Private. Part of the number on the other side can't be read.
The sector where he found it was occupied in turn by the 35th Division and maybe the 6th Division too during summer / fall 1918 (and even the 5th Division, perhaps).
Could anyone among you help us find the unit this man served with, and whether he was KIA or lost his identity disk?
Thanks a lot in advance.
