Hello,

Thank you for your reply. My dad's military service was in Eniwetok and Saipan. I don't know that his unit was an ordnance unit; he did say that he loaded and unloaded ships.

Have you been able to find anyone who was in your dad's unit? I have searched the internet, but have found only one reference to the 590th Port Company, but it was part of a list of African American units that were in the Pacific during the war--no information about the individual units.
