Levi MARLOWE; Monmouth, IL; 1871

I inherited this letter and its stamped envelope from my father. Levi Marlowe served in USCT. Researching, he appears to have been a family friend, likely to my great grandfather, Milton HOWARD/SMITH who also served in USCT (different companies). The original letter is very faded-I had to transcribe it in the early morning light, using a magnifying glass.
