Beginning USCT Research

Because of Fold3, I am just starting to try to get into the research for ancestors who may have served. I must admit, I just did not understand the jist of it and all of the Regiment and Calvary divisions just made my head swim. I have found 2 that I can finally say WERE in the Civil War. Now I had documented and found these names many years ago, but do you know how many Dan/Daniel Adams were in the wars. I am more familiar with my kinfolks now. So now it is time for lesson one. For Daniel Adams bn 1834 I am looking into 5th Inf, G-Z and 6th Inf, 7th Inf, A-D He Enlisted in 1861 MS.

For Henry--I have Pinkney bn 1843 North Carolina
USCT Pvt Co A 70th Inf Rgt Source #304 Amer. Civil War
19th USCT Co B, 19 Rgt
Pvt may and June (Compile Svc Record) May and June
Absent ???illegible Teamster $32 US by ua sum of over payment
Murray, Henry
Potwin, George C
FOR HENRY---HENRY PINKSTON bn 1842. This is a surname I found on the Edgefield SC census. He married my 3rd cousin Harriet Vance and from 1880 to 19co the surnaame was PINCKSTON on that census but the military found was Pinkston..
Military..1861 age 19
10th Cavalry, Lockes Rgt, Henry M, 26th Inf, M-PL

Now before I start googing this info all over the internet and yall sort of simply what I need to look and think about. I have a big enough headache, believe me.

Oh yes I realize the free trial is ending, but I have use of it through my local library membership, thank goodness.
