This month, our Army honors the countless contributions made by African Americans. And paying homage to our past is perhaps unique this year because we also celebrate the 150th and the 50th anniversaries of two important events that helped change the course of our nation – the Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
