My late father, James Audra Thompson, was a Tuskegee Airman who graduated from Flight School on October 16, 1945 with Class 45-G as a Flight Officer. I recently contacted the Air Force Historical Research Agency at Maxwell AFB in Alabama in hopes of acquiring some information about my dad's military service. To my surprise, I received an e-mail with attachments of a photo of my dad, a copy of the roster of the names of the graduates from his class, and a copy of the graduation program, which listed the speakers. Members of his graduation class included Granville C. COGGS, Arthur C. HARMON, William M. JONES, Daniel KEEL, William A. LESLIE, Perry W. LINDSEY, James A. THOMPSON, Herbert C. THORPE, and James R. WILLIAMS. The aviation cadets and students listed were Page L. DICKERSON, Julius P. ECHOLS, Alfred E. GARRETT Jr, Alfonso L. HARRIS, Lonnie HARRISON, Marcellus L. HUNTER, Julien D. JACKSON Jr, Charles R. PRICE, James C. RUSSELL, George SHERMAN, and Richard WEATHERFORD. This information was a blessing to my family in that it shed light on that aspect of my father's life.
