Looking for records or information on my grandfather that served in the US Army"Colored Troops" during WW1. Such records for these veterans were destroyed by fire, etc. at the Military Personnel Center! William Douglas was born 10/28/1895 in Abbeville, Vermilion prarish, Louisiana. According to his draft registration dated 6/5/1917 He died at the USPHS Hospital in Galveston, Texas on 4/25/1953. Those records were somehow destroyed by a flood!I only have a state death certificate. Any one with any information regarding this veteran, please contact me ASAP!
