All...I have 2 in my family who served with the Confederacy. Those are the ones that I know about. I suspect if they served other of their family did as well. Both were FPOC. Both lived in VA. 1 was in my husband's family. He was Abram Boone and the other was my 2nd greatgrandfather, Austin Charity who was enlisted or drafted into the Confederacy. An article was written in the Virginian Pilot about Abram and I have the records for my ancestor that were sent to me by the Charles City Center for Local History. He may not have served in a fighting capacity, but he was not a manservant either. Austin worked in Richmond in the repair of the ambulances, etc. I understand their were many others who were enlisted to do the same work if they were skilled laborers. Not sure how Abram served.
