Hi,

My name is Janet Baker and I am the British born daughter of an African American WW2 veteran, Private First Class, Walter Lee Hill who served in Europe, including England. He died in 1981.

My father served with the 4059th Quartermaster Service Company previously known as the 262nd QMC.

I have been researching the history of African American Serviceman based in England during WW2 for several years and would be interested to hear from anyone who had this experience.

I also have a military background. I joined the Womens Royal Air Force in 1962 and served for 6 years, including 4 years in Cyprus.

I am currently living in France.
